Program Overview

The Exercise Science program prepares students to understand, evaluate, and improve human health and performance through the scientific study of physical activity and exercise. Grounded in a Christian worldview, the program equips students to integrate scientific knowledge with compassionate service while promoting health and wellness in diverse populations.

Students develop a strong foundation in anatomy and physiology, exercise physiology, biomechanics, motor learning, sport and exercise psychology, care and prevention of injuries, strength and conditioning, and exercise testing and prescription through classroom instruction, laboratory experiences, and practical application. The curriculum emphasizes evidence-based practice and critical thinking while preparing students to work with healthy, athletic, and special populations.

Students interested in professional certifications are encouraged to work with faculty advisors to identify certifications that align with their career goals and current eligibility requirements. Faculty also assist students in selecting coursework and experiential learning opportunities that best prepare them for graduate education and employment.

Students are challenged to serve others with integrity, professionalism, and Christ-centered compassion while applying scientific principles to improve health, wellness, and quality of life.

All four-year 91ԭ students complete two majors: one in Bible and Theology and one in their chosen field, such as Exercise Science. Transfer students with substantial prior coursework may complete a reduced set of Bible and Theology requirements instead of the major. Learn more about the Bible and Theology curriculum here.
